In 2026, the United States of America is celebrating 250 years of independence. To honor this historic milestone, the Monroe County America 250 Committee invites students to participate in the America250 Youth Contest. This country-wide contest encourages young people to reflect on our nation’s past, present, and future—and what it means to be an American today.
Students are invited to express their thoughts through writing or art, sharing their personal perspectives on freedom, history, and the values that shape our country.
